Representatives for Baden-Württemberg

In Baden-Württemberg, students and post-graduates from all over the globe got together with one goal in mind: To find out as much about the region as they can so they are ready to pass on this information, as well as the contacts made to institutions and interested parties in their native countries. This way, they contribute to a worldwide network of  "Baden-Württemberg ambassadors".

Hariram Subramanian from India - Master of Science in Communications Technology

"This representative event helps me to perpetuate and strengthen the affection and admiration, which I developed with Baden-Württemberg during the months I spent (and to be spent) in Germany."

Jorge Aurélio Linhares Pereira Filho from Brazil - Master of Business Administration - completed. Waiting to start PhD at the University of Hohenheim

"Being in the homeland and/or in the working area of personalities that helped to change human history, Baden-Württemberg is a source of knowledge in all intellectual fields. For me, it is an honor to be able to officially speak to my own people on behalf of the South-West Germany, and to help building up a stronger link between Brazil and Baden-Württemberg."

Juliana Schober Goncalves Lima from Brazil - Ph.D. on Agricultural Economics - Aquaculture

"Baden-Württemberg is a very important region in Germany due to cultural, scientific and economic reasons. As a Brazilian scientist and journalist, I think it is important to know more about the Baden-Württemberg region, mainly in this time when the integration between Brazil and Germany has been stimulated by both the governments. Furthermore, I think this opportunity can help me to contribute for the exchange between Brazil and Germany. The concept of training student representatives is an interesting and great idea to improve the relations between Brazil and Germany and I am strongly interested to take part of this."

Leslie Sams from USA - Master in Linguistics

"I believe my participation in this representative event will enhance my own knowledge and understanding of the region. Through my work with both high school and university exchange students, including regular contact to our partner universities overseas, I see immediate application for the knowledge and experience I gain."

Maïté Naudan from France - Master of Linguistics

"I'd like to do this seminar because I've been living in Stuttgart for three and a half years and I think it would be very interesting for me to learn more about the politics and the economy of Baden-Württemberg. I've visited a few places in Baden-Württemberg and I've been in contact with a lot of people from this region in my French courses.
I know that Stuttgart is very active on the cultural level but I know much less about the rest of the region. I grew up in Africa and I have experienced a lot of different cultures and that's why I would like to work for a cultural organisation or at least in the development of the European relations, which begins at the regional level."

Neil J. Armstrong from UK - PhD in Developmental Genetics

"My grounds to be trained as a representative are actually quite self-serving. Baden-Württemberg obviously has a wide range of scenery, industry and educational possibilities - and I'd like to know how to promote them more efficiently. "

Norman Hu from China - Master of Science in Information Technology

"I have very good experiences in my study life in Baden-Württemberg. From here I got to know great culture and also benefit a lot for my future life. It is a pleasure for me to be able to represent BW and introduce it as a beautiful and amenable land to the other people."

Prakash Mohan from India - PhD in Computer Science

"From my objective one can understand that I aim at a research oriented business development, which needs some sort of specific information with special guidance. And I believe this "Representative's Event" will provide all information I need and will help me and my country people in future to develop our contacts with Baden-Württemberg."

Shiori Kamata from Japan - Architecture and Urban Planning

"The seminar must be valuable for me to improve my experience of studying abroad and learn more about Baden-Württemberg. I would like to know what the other foreign students think of studying abroad and what they have experienced in Baden-Württemberg."

Stefanie Ipfling from Mexico - PhD in Computer Science

"I would like to be trained as a representative of Baden-Württemberg, first because I think I can learn a lot about the place where I'm living. It's important to know something about the place one lives, because then one can understand the people and get to know their culture at the same time that one learns how to appreciate more the people and place.

Another reason is that I would be able to help people in my land who want to come to Germany and are not so sure what they will find here. I think I could be helpful to people because I already lived that experience and would be willing to help them."

Devrim Dirik from Turkey - Master of Science in Information Systems

"My motivation for this event is to assist Turkish students who are willing to study in Germany especially for a graduate degree. As you may know Turkey has one of the youngest demographies in Europe. Therefore we have many students who are willing to go abroad for a study. I think I can assist them with my experience I gained here in Baden Württemberg. Germany is still not known for an academic career compared to the USA and the UK in Turkey. I hope I will help the prospective students!"

Vaios Makrygiannis from Greece - Master in Business Administration (MBA)

"I would very much appreciate the chance to become a representative for Baden-Württemberg, Germany's leading state in education and research. As a student here I experienced first-hand the high academic standards and the excellent living conditions of the area. I believe it is to the interest of both Baden-Württemberg and my school that highly qualified international students have the opportunity to study in this state. I regard it as my duty and pleasure to assist in an effort to make the region's culture known to others, especially to the people of my country. It is the least I can do for a culture that I admire and enjoy being a part of."

Veerada Pongprasertchai from Thailand - Master of Business Administration

"The reason for me to participate in this seminar is that I would like to help Thai student who are now searching for the further education to consider Germany as one of the alternatives. In Thailand, Germany is not a popular place, compared to USA, UK or Australia, to pursue the higher education. The main problem is the lack of information about the educational system, universities, courses, scholarships and culture."
