Massachusetts USA Exchange
The UMass-BW programme has been exchanging students for more than 40 years.
Since then thousands of students have benefited from the great variety of options BW-universities have to offer.
Originally destined for graduate students, the programme is now open for undergraduate students as well. The combination of studying in a foreign setting, intensive language courses and on-site help make it an unique experience.

The programme is open to graduate and undergraduate students of the participating universities. Students from other universities may apply as well provided that not all the available spots are already taken. Please contact the International Programmes Office at UMass Amherst or the International Office at the University of Freiburg respectively.
- No tuition fees are charged at the host university.
- Be prepared to pay smaller amounts for study material, excursions etc.
- Living expenses sum up to about 550 Euro/ month depending on your life style.
- Scholarships are available for this programme. Please apply at the International Programmes Office at UMass Amherst.
- UMass office in Freiburg with German staff
- Orientation in Massachusetts and BW for new students
