Malaysia Exchange
Each year approximately 50-60 young women and men from Malaysia come to Baden-Württemberg in order to study in a technically oriented field at a University of Applied Science. Before taking up their studies in Baden-Württemberg, they have to complete a two-year specialised training course in Malaysia, and must satisfactorily complete the university entry qualification examination (A-levels), as well as the German language proficiency entrance examination (DSH). The number of Malaysian state scholarship holders attending Universities of Applied Sciences in Baden-Württemberg has reached over 300 over the last couple of years, a third of them being female students.
Signed in 1997, the agreement between the Malaysian Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) and the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg represents the framework of the programme, enabling the Malaysian scholarship holders to study in the German Southwest.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regulates the preparatory phase in Malaysia and secures the constant mentoring of the Malaysian students in Baden-Württemberg until graduation.
The beginning of study will be for the summer term every year. Scholarships holders of the state Malaysia will attend entire study at a University of Applied Sciences of the state of Baden-Württemberg. The degree will be completed with the acquirement of Diploma or Bachelor’s/Master’s respectively. Studies can be made in technical fields such as:
