FinancesAs in any country, finances are of utmost importance: where do you put your money, how do you have access to it, what reductions are students entitled to and how much does everything cost anyway? Answers to these questions and more can be found in this section. Upon applying for a visa and residence permit, you will be asked to prove that you have sufficient financial means to finance your studies in Germany. Currently, German authorities require you to have 7.020,00 EUR (585,00 EUR per month) for one year of studies at your disposal. This is to ensure that international students can finance their studies independently, and will not have to rely on government funding.
Proof of sufficient funds can be provided in different ways. It is advisable that you enquire at the German Embassy in your home country in which form the proof should be provided (bank statement, etc.).
