Four Stuttgart Media University (HdM) students are looking forward to the screening of their short film Morula at Siggraph 2008, the 35th international Siggraph conference, in Los Angeles. A morula – the Latin term for a mulberry seed – plays the leading role in their production. The short film is a visual and musical interpretation of the cycle of life: birth, youth and maturity.

The students underscored their elegant visualization with original music composed for the short film. The work of the HdM students will be presented to the public at the Computer Animation Festival from the 11th to the 15th of August 2008. This will be the second time that the work of HdM students will be shown at the prestigious conference.

Siggraph is the world’s leading conference for computer graphics and animation –not only for educational and research institutions, but also for the motion picture and animation industries. Around 25,000 visitors from 80 countries attend the annual event. “Taking part in the conference is a tremendous accolade for the students,” explained their academic supervisors Professor Bernd Eberhardt, Professor Thomas Keppler, Jochen Bomm and Andreas Schmid with pride.
