New partnership agreements were signed in Reutlingen in early June between
Chapman University in Orange, California, USA and
Reutlingen University. The partnership was formalised between the School of International Business (SIB) of the new business faculty on the Reutlingen side and the Argyros Business School of the American university. Its goal is to ensure that every student spends at least one year abroad in future.
By contrast, the
University of Heidelberg and
Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio, USA can already look back on 50 years of co-operation. Around 1,600 students from Heidelberg and a number of American universities have participated in the American Junior Year at Heidelberg University (AJY) exchange programme. The AJY established an office in Heidelberg to provide counselling services and as a study centre for language courses and the like in 1961. The AJY works closely with the university’s international office, much to the benefit of the exchange students. A considerable number of the currently active US alumni took part in the programme. The successful partnership is being celebrated from the 5th to the 8th of June.
