Temperatures are rising at the University of Heidelberg!
The renowned and largest scientific congress in the field of combustion processes is expecting over 1,300 scientists from all over the world. The congress, which takes place every two years, includes topics such as the current state of combustion practices. Experts from the most important scientific locations around the globe will discuss the latest theories, projects and experiments.
At present, combustion processes cover approx. 90% of the world’s energy needs – something that will not change within the next 20 years. Ideas on new ways to deal with, for example, sooty diesel motors, the functioning of catalysers in cars, new clean powerhouses will be brought forth and important topics such as the examination of how toxins are formed, are examples of the broad spectrum of discussion. Technical sessions will be held at the University of Heidelberg and the Heidelberg Convention Centre.
The 2006 symposium is hosted by the German Section of the Combustion Institute and the Interdisciplinary Center for Scientific Computing (IWR) of the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg.
The University of Heidelberg is connected via the Interdisciplinary Centre for Scientific Computing (IWR) and will welcome scientists who will be visiting Germany for the first time. The attraction of such a picturesque historic traditional town has secured a high number of registrations from scientists, together with their families! An informative cultural program will be offered alongside the scientific elements including a reception for the scientists in the historic castle in Heidelberg. Families will also be well catered for with a range of activities on offer: an ideal way to combine business with pleasure!
